Description

Staff Facilitators: Spencer and Sheyan

We’re so excited to have you all back to the garden this Friday! Now that school is over, we’ll be extending our hours to 4-8 pm. As always, if you’d like to pick up your teen earlier than that you’re welcome to, we’d just like to know so we can plan accordingly.

Last Friday, we grilled burgers, brats, and hot dogs, made some tie dye shirts and socks, and put some more plants into the ground!

For this Friday, looking at the forecast, we may have rain showers during program, but it looks like they’ll be light showers. That being said, we have a weather structure but it’s a VERY good idea for each teen to bring a rain jacket and close toed shoes. Also, keep an eye on your email- if thunderstorms are in the forecast we’ll be running program at the church- we will let you know NO LATER than noon Friday.

Our schedule, weather permitting, is as follows:

COOKING:
-We’re doing kebobs again! They were popular amongst the teens, and requested we do them again with even more ingredient varieties (pineapple, zucchini, etc.)
- As always, we’ll also be snacking on our garden veggies before dinner!
- Also, per the teens’ requests, we have popsicles for dessert! :)

ART:
- We’re adding a rock dragon to our fairy garden! Every teen will have the chance to decorate its “scales” or add other pieces to the creation!
- Alternatively, we’re decorating houses for said fairy garden.
-We’ll start doing rough drafts for any personal art projects they want to work on.

GARDEN:
- There’s loads to do at the garden (weeding, planting, pruning, etc.)

Lastly, while we’re providing sunscreen and bug spray, teens are encouraged to bring the following:
-sunglasses
-hat
-closed toed shoes
-WATER BOTTLE
-Layers (the weather says high of 70, low of 52 and 45% rain)

We hope to see you soon!
It was so great to see everybody last Friday!

*We understand that work and drive times vary from family to family. If you can’t arrive right at 4:00pm, just let us know ahead of time when to expect you - we’d still love for your teen to be able to join us!
